Today I'm giving away a copy of Accused by Janice Cantore. To enter to win, leave a comment telling me about your first ticket. I was like 19, and I was speeding bad, trying to drive home to Houston from Dallas at like 1 a.m. He bumped my speed down so that I could do defensive driving. I was so thankful.
I'll pick a winner next Tuesday. I can only ship to the US.
Random comment: I know I haven't mailed packages in a while. I switched school districts (yay), but that means I haven't gotten a pay check since July 20th. Thankfully, I taught summer school and had extra money from that, but money has been tighter than usual. I get paid this week and have mailing packages on my to-do list.

I've never gotten a ticket, but I have been pulled for speeding. It was back in 1996, and I was coming home from academic team practice at college. I was doing 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. When the officer pulled me over, I was crying, calling him sir, etc. When he saw my books, he asked if I was going home from class. I responded that I was, and he let me go with a verbal warning.
To this day, I've never told my parents that I was pulled.

My first and only was coming home on memorial day from my parents, I had at least one of my children with me. Scary pulling to the side of a busy freeway and after getting it, having to pull back on.
My first ticket was coming home from a week at girls camp with a bunch of girls in my station wagon. A semi truck was in the lane next to me. There was a sign the other side of the truck on a knoll reducing the speed from 55 to 35 that was blocked by th truck and a policeman just the other side of it.
Aww. Never have experienced getting a ticket though. I am a girl and I am very careful when it comes to driving or else, I would be grounded. Anyway, nice contest though.
