Wolfsbane: A Review

When Danielle Roark's Army Corps of Engineers group is captured, she is tortured for six months. After escaping, she returns home to the US and charged with espionage. Forced to go back to prove her innocence, she must return to the place where she was held a prisoner. Nightshade member Canyon Metcalfe is assigned to help Danielle on her mission, and he must fight his growing feelings for her as the two are captured. Will they be able to escape with their lives and their love for each other?

This is my favorite book in the Nightshade series. I think it's because Danielle is such a strong character. I love her feisty personality and her strength after being brutally tortured. In addition, Canyon's family is a nice addition of characters, and I wish we (as readers) could find out more about them.
As always, there are enough action-packed scenes to keep the reader on the edge of his/her seat, wondering how they would survive whatever precarious situation in which they found themselves.

Fans of Christian suspense and military thrillers will devour this addition to a fantastic series.

Waiting for Dawn: A Review

As a fan of the Team Hope series, I was excited to read this prequel to the books I enjoyed so much. Although this story is short, there is a lot of action packed into each page.
When Jim Micah's team is captured in Afghanistan, Lacey and John risk their lives to save him through a covert mission. When bullets fly, so do emotions. Lacey finds herself pulled between an exciting love and a strong, stable love.
This story/novella was a great introduction to the characters for new readers and an extra adventure for faithful readers.
I received this book in exchange for my review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

Deadly Pursuit

Social worker Alison Taylor is dedicated to her job of protecting kids, but when her own life is in danger, who will protect her? When her brother sets her up on a blind date, Alison finds her answer in ex-Navy Seal Mitch Morgan, who is determined to protect Alison and to steal her heart.

Irene Hannon fans will devour this latest book by one of my favorite Christian suspense authors. The characters aren't as developed as in other books, but I enjoyed their story. Some of the reviews I've read complained that Mitch and Alison fell for one another too quickly, but I think in life, sometimes you just know when it's the right person. I found their instant attraction to be a nice change from the many books I've read where they hate each other at first and then find they do love each other.
I work in an elementary school and have seen some of the social system at work. I believe this book gives a fair look at both the positive and negative aspects of the social system. Alison's work was an interesting component of the book and added to storyline with some thought-provoking situations.

All in all, this is another great read by Irene Hannon.

Breach of Trust by DiAnn Mills

Summary: Paige Rogers is a small-town librarian with a big-city secret. Her name is really Mikaela Olsson, and she is in hiding after a botched mission with the CIA. When a dangerous man from her past wants her cooperation, Mikaela’s cover unravels, and everyone she loves is in danger.

My thoughts: This is the first book I’ve read by DiAnn Mills, and I enjoyed it. It has a little bit of romance and a lot of action. The plot is well-developed, and Mills creates a sense of family with the minor characters that make up the small town. Fans of Dee Henderson will enjoy this book. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
